Join us on Friday, August 9th at 5pm for a scenic 3.2 mile hike along the Long Point Trail! This trail features some of the best panoramic views of the gorge and the New River Gorge Bridge. This moderate trail winds through the forest until meeting a steep section just before the outlook. Come hike with us!
From US 19, follow WV16 south through the town of Fayetteville. Turn left on Gatewood Road (sign indicates Kaymoor and Cunard). Follow Gatewood Road for 1.9 miles, and turn left on Newton Road. The trailhead parking area is 50 yards on the left.
Get Active in the Park is an innovative partnership between the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia. Trained Community Captains deliver free, beginner-level instructional programs to the New River Gorge region. Get Active in the Park empowers our community to see outdoor spaces as a place for health and wellness to take place. This project was made possible by a funding award from the National Park Service and Outdoor Foundation.
