The inaugural Active Southern West Virginia Family Triathlon, in support of ActiveSWV Kids Run Clubs, was a great success! Held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Summersville Dam celebration, a field of 50 participants, including kids, parents and grandparents, ran, biked and paddled a course set up adjacent to the Summersville Lake beach. Fayetteville Mile Monday, Winter Edition

Our Fayetteville Community Captain Hilary Nicolau hosted the weekly Mile Monday in Fayetteville May through October with great results in getting beginner walkers and runners introduced to weekly group activities. The goal is a one mile distance but some choose to do more.

Starting November 2nd Mile Monday is taking on a new look for November and December with the goal of keeping previous participants interested while attracting new walkers and runners.

ActiveSWV Kids Running Club: Pilot Program at Valley Elementary School Begins Soon!

Active Southern West Virginia presents the ActiveSWV Valley Elementary School Running Club, the first round of after school programming. Principal Harrah and PE Teacher Linkous will facilitate the program with support from the staff at ActiveSWV. Weekly after school training’s will work to prepare the kids for a one mile competition on October 7th.
