Active SWV Welcomes Newest AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate Isabella Green
Active Southern West Virginia is thrilled to welcome Isabella Green as our newest AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate! Isabella is a student athlete, a wildlife enthusiast, and a natural communicator whose energy and passion for getting people moving make her a perfect fit for our team. She joins us this summer through the Stewards Individual Placement Program as part of the AmeriCorps VISTA initiative, serving from June 1 through August 9. We’re so excited to have her on board! An Athlete Who Gets It
Isabella knows firsthand how hard it can be to access physical activity — and how much it matters. As a college student athlete competing in track, she understands the dedication it takes to stay active and the difference it makes in your life. That personal experience is exactly what drew her to Active SWV’s mission of making movement more accessible to everyone in southern West Virginia. Isabella is currently studying Wildlife Management with her sights set on a future career with the Department of Natural Resources, and she brings a genuine love of the outdoors and community to everything she does.
Building Skills Through Experience
Isabella’s background is a blend of hands-on community engagement and real-world communication. She developed strong customer service and leadership skills through her work at Seven Brew Coffee, where she worked her way up to a management role. Her time with Energy Express sharpened her ability to connect with and inspire younger community members. She also helps manage social media and media content for CrossFit Coal, giving her a practical foundation in digital outreach — a skill that will translate directly to her work here supporting Active SWV’s volunteer programs, event calendars, and membership app.
What She’ll Be Working On
This summer, Isabella will be focused on capacity-building work that helps Active SWV run smoother and reach more people. That includes helping volunteers and participants navigate our mobile membership app, quality-checking program calendars and communications, and supporting community outreach efforts. She’s joining us to help make it easier for more people in our region to find and access the programs that keep southern West Virginia moving.
