ACTIVE Swv races income based rate
At Active SWV, our mission is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles throughout Southern West Virginia. Engaging underserved populations is one of our core values, and one way we act on this value is by offering Income Based Rates for our events. These special rates are offered to those who qualify and would otherwise not be able to participate.
Income-based registration is just one of several ways Active SWV works to keep our races within reach. Youth qualify for free entry in select races, and early registration rates let you lock in the lowest price the sooner you sign up. Referring a friend can get your own registration cost refunded, and business sponsorships give partner companies free entries for their employees. You can also earn free entry into a future race by volunteering at an Active SWV event.
Those whose maximum annual household income (adjusted gross income) is less than the amount in the chart below are eligible for a special registration rate for Active SWV Races.
To qualify, participants will be asked to complete the online Income Based Rate application and provide proof of income, in the form of the most recent tax return (Form 1040, not your W2) filled out by you or the individual claiming you. If you do not have your most recent tax return (Form 1040)*, we may accept certain Social Services verification/eligibility letters (EBT, SNAP, TANF, Energy Assistance Benefits, Medicaid, etc.). For all submitted documentation please make sure to black out any sensitive information such as your social security number.
Applications must be received by end of day Monday before event day.
Approval to register at the Income Based Rate does not guarantee a spot in an event. All event rules, policies, and participant caps will still apply.
