WV Strong Fall Challenge

From the people who brought you the WV Strong Summer Challenge! Take on this new fall challenge to stay motivated with your running and walking! We have made these challenges so that anyone can complete them.

The challenge starts September 14 and ends December 21 (100 day challenge).

Route #1 – 210 Miles which will be 2.1 Miles/Day
(Williamson, WV, to Monongahela National Forest)
Route #2 – 460 Miles which will be 4.6 Miles/Day
(Williamson, WV, to Harpers Ferry, WV)
 

Enjoy some of the scenic views of West Virginia in this virtual challenge! You will get to go through southern WV and all the way up the eastern border and into the panhandle on this imaginary course.

You will have the ability to log your miles, track your progress, and check the leader board daily! Invite your friends/family to this challenge to stay motivated/active all fall long!

All registered participants will receive a fleece blanket (just in time for winter) as well as a commemorative race shirt. Those that complete their challenge will also earn an awesome challenge medal!

Shipping for this challenge is an additional $5. However, if you are local (Huntington, Charleston, or Beckley) you will have the option to pickup (once swag arrives) to save on shipping.

Registration officially opens September 1st. Registration will close October 31st at midnight. Therefore, if you want to take part in the challenge please be registered by the deadline. This allows us to place our orders and get everyone their swag right at the completion of the event (our goal is to have all swag to everyone by Christmas).

Active Southern West Virginia is a nonprofit building an ecosystem of physical activity for the residents of southern West Virginia by offering programs led by trained leaders from within the communities they serve. Each Active SWV program serves a specific purpose to build capacity within southern West Virginia. The connectivity of each program will help usher in a vibrant, diverse economy.

This mission is achieved through community volunteers who lead regular physical activities in southern West Virginia. Volunteers are seeking healthier lifestyles themselves and experience accountability in leading groups. Active SWV provides volunteer training with comprehensive Active SWV program manuals and certifications to facilitate quality program while also creating the opportunity for Community Captains to obtain resume-building qualifications.
