The Fayetteville PK-8 Kids Run Club is off to a great start! For their first practice, volunteer Coaches Meghan Fisher and Brooke Gershenbaum led kids through their first practice running, stretching, learning dynamic exercises, and having fun with movement. After the activity part of practice was over, the group gathered by the playground to write goals and record their running in journals, receive a to-go meal from Coda, and listen to a talk on perseverance by Coda’s Director Esther Morey.
This club is made possible by an initiative between Active SWV, Coda Mountain Academy, and Camp Royal to provide kids with after-school activities. The partnership has funding from a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant that provides support for the project for 5 years. Active, Coda, and Royal all plan to expand their after school offerings in the seasons to come.
