Workplace Wellness Conference and Awards

THE CONFERENCE

The Workplace Wellness Conference and Awards are an annual gathering of providers, members, speakers, and key note guests promoting a healthier and happier workforce in West Virginia! Throughout a day of presentations and networking the conference aims to bring barriers to health to the forefront of discussion, while brainstorming solutions to decrease and overcome these barriers.

This year, we are hosting the conference at The Resort at Glade Springs, September 18th.  More information on speakers, registration, and plans for the day to come, so stay tuned! [email protected]

FINDING SOLUTIONS

One of the major focuses of our conference is bringing like minds together to find solutions to issues and barriers that workers in our state experience in the workplace. Past speakers have covered topics from mindfulness and mental health, to building strategic plans to create health and wellness at your workplace.

Each year we invite speakers ,partners, and sponsors who help change the narrative in the Mountain State. Through the inclusion of voices from differing backgrounds at the conference, we can recognize barriers to access, equitability, and sustainability to workplace wellness programming no matter the organization size or sector.

WORKPLACE WELLNESS AWARDS

The conference also gives Active SWV the opportunity to recognize and award workplaces across the state for their efforts in creating equitable and sustainable workplace wellness initiatives at their workplace! For 2024, award applications will open until August, 2, at 11:59 pm . Applications, FAQ’s, and all information regarding the Workplace Wellness Awards can be found by clicking below!

The Active Southern West Virginia Workplace Wellness Award recognizes and celebrates healthy workplaces that promote employee wellness by implementing Policy, Systems, and Environmental benchmarks.

Each year, members of the Active SWV Workplace Wellness Program are invited to apply for recognition as a bronze, silver, or gold level Active SWV Member Organization. Those who receive any level of recognition have spent the year creating and implementing action plans to increase employee physical and mental health through short and long term programming. The review process for this, created in partnership with WVU Extension, looks at every level of health and wellbeing from leadership participation to action planning, implementation, and outcomes. These awards are to recognize those who have dedicated time and effort to finding ways to get their staff living healthier and happier lives.

This Award Program is proudly brought to you by Active Southern West Virginia in partnership with the West Virginia Division of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease (HPCD).
