FAQs – 2021 NRG Rim to Rim 10K

The Rim to Rim Race is a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in Fayetteville, the adventure sports capital of West Virginia. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim-side pool with a catered brunch.

The course will begin on the south side of the New River Gorge on Fayette Station Road – Route 82 and will follow Burma Road and Ames Heights Road. Racers are welcome to walk the course, but must maintain a 20-minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road time frame.

Proceeds from the race benefit Active Southern West Virginia which offers free physical activity programs within communities, elementary schools, local government, and workplaces in Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers counties.

Please note that upon registration, every racer will be required to sign a release of liability, follow race rules and regulations, and adhere to the race course route. There are no refunds for cancellations. If you are unable to attend the race, you can transfer your registration to someone else.

Registration Instruction tips

Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road time frame. Awards will be given out for top finishers in the walker category as well.

Adventures on the Gorge, the area’s premier adventure resort, has lodging options, restaurants, and a variety of guided outdoor activities. Please also see the New River Gorge CVB for other dining, lodging, and activity options in the area.

Packet pick up will take place Friday, May 14, 2021 between 5-7PM at Adventures on the Gorge. Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race between 7am-7:15am at Adventures on the Gorge.

Racers need to check in at 7am at Adventures on the Gorge the morning of the race. Racers will then be bused to the start line on the south side of Fayette Station road. More detailed times will be established based on registration numbers.

Racers will meet and park at Adventures on the Gorge the morning of the race. Packet pick up will be the night before from 5-7pm, but racers may also retrieve their packets the morning of between 7-7:15am. All racers much check in by 7am to load a bus to the start line on the south side of Fayette Station road. From there, racers will proceed along the course to the finish line back at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers will then convene for post race brunch and awards by the resort’s pool.
