Fall is for Family

Enjoy the season with the whole family on these trails for everyone.

If you check out the Active SWV calendar of free activities, you’ll find “hikes” to be one of our most common programs. What do you think of when you hear the word, “hike?” You might picture a rugged athlete with a huge backpack and hiking poles in hand, prepared for a full day in the mountains. You might instead picture an average Joe taking an afternoon walk in the woods.

We’re more of the “walk in the woods” type. In fact, when you think of hiking, we want you to imagine an even broader picture where the whole family comes along on that walk in the woods. We’re talking the baby, the dog, the grandparents, and friends of all physical abilities.

When planning for the whole family, we recommend our Stroller Friendly Trails page. Find trails with easy access and gentle terrain suitable for your younger family members.

Active SWV is constantly updating and growing our resource library so you can easily plan an outing perfect for your needs. We consider these resources your “Gateway to Wellness.” Click here to see our entire resource library.

See you on the trails!
