Kids Creative Contest
In 2025, Active SWV is holding a Kids Creative Contest for free entry into the Bridge Day 5k RUN! The contest will have two two category options, ‘art’ and ‘essay.’
This contest is an opportunity for kids to show off their art or writing skills and win free entry into Active SWV’s Bridge Day 5k RUN!
There will be three winners in each category, selected on a rolling basis. Please only submit to one category. Each winner will receive two free entries to the 2025 Bridge Day 5k RUN, taking place on October 18th, 2025.
Kids Creative Contest General Rules and Requirements:
- Youth must be under the age of 18 to submit their art piece or essay.
- The contest will be open from now until August 31st, 2025.
- Winners will be selected on a rolling basis.
- There will be three winners in each category. Each winner will receive two free entries into the race.
- Please only submit to one category!
Art Submission Details:
Interested youth can submit a drawing, painting, collage, or any other piece of original art 5″x7″ or larger. Please create your art piece inspired by one of the following prompts:
- What does running the Bridge Day 5k RUN look like to you?
- What does a more active West Virginia look like to you?
Art pieces should be accompanied by:
- A brief youth artist bio (including name, age, and county).
- What prompt the piece is inspired by, and a description of the art piece.
- A picture of the youth artist being active.
Essay Submission Details:
Interested youth can submit a 250 word maximum essay that answers the following two questions: What motivates you to be physically active? Why do you want to participate in the Bridge Day 5k RUN?
Essays should be accompanied by:
- A brief youth essayist bio (including name, age, and county).
- Include three active photos with the essay.

Submit your art or essay through this link. Pieces should be submitted by August 31st, but winners will be selected on a rolling basis as they are received.
