12 Days of Fitness in December

2025 December-12 Days of Fitness

Active SWV is celebrating the season with 12 Days of Fitness! Follow along as we post a new fitness challenge for 12 days in December to stay active in the colder winter weather.

1. Ugly Sweater Fun Run/Walk

Bring out the family and enjoy some holiday cheer at Fayette County Park on Dec. 7 from 4:45-6:00 pm. $10 cash or check at gate, ages 12 and under are free. Event page found HERE.

2. Winter Hiking

In truth, I think you could hike for all 12 days of fitness. The fresh air, absence of bugs and snakes, and empty trails always brings me back to a peaceful place even during the crazy holiday months. Find detailed trail information on the Active SWV Trail Knowledge page. And check the website calendar for Community Captain led group hikes all season.

3. Line Dancing

Knock the dust off of those dancing shoes and join Greenbrier County Line Dancing at Old Stone Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays, Dec. 3rd and 17th at 6pm.

4. Free Membership and Phone Friendly App System.

Did you know you can access all of Active SWV’s free volunteer Community Captain led programming from your phone, even without social media? Join for free, and follow email prompts for account set up. Download the MemberPlus app and utilize all the features, like search options by activity type and county, on the go.
