The Beckley Area Foundation supported Active SWV in 2025 through their Community Grant program, providing life saving equipment and training for volunteers. Active SWV was able to purchase two AED (Automated External Defibrillators) lifesaving devices and fund Wilderness First Aid certifications for two Community Captain volunteers.
AEDs are portable devices used to treat victims of cardiac arrest by analyzing the heart’s rhythm and delivering an electrical shock to restore a normal heartbeat.
