April Community Captain of the Month

Active SWV is excited to announce the Community Captain of the Month for April is Charity Wysong. Charity leads Active SWV’s Walk in the Park program, a walking/hiking group at Fayette County Park every Wednesday at 10am. Charity also leads hikes in the NRG for our Get Active in the Park programs. We caught up with Charity to ask her a few questions about what motivates her to volunteer and to stay physically active.

Workplace Wellness at the Beckley Sanitary Board

Active SWV Workplace Wellness Program

This program provides structure and support for a multi-year approach to increase physical activity in the workplace by utilizing a score card to measure results.

Participation will also connect workplaces to the already successful Active SWV programs; Community Captains offering free outdoor physical activity weekly programs, elementary school Kids Run Clubs, the Bike/Walk SWV advocacy model, and high quality signature events.

Active SWV Community Engagement Assistant Molly Wolff

Molly Wolff joins the Active SWV team on a part time basis to contribute media and communication support along with photography and graphic design. Molly brings an education in Physical Education and Recreation Administration from Southern Virginia University with life experience in youth sports programming, assisting children with special needs in recreation, tourism marketing assistance, and owning a photography business. Molly is a resident of Scarbro, West Virginia with her family.
