Bike Safety Rodeo – Powered by Active SWV
Mount Hope Elementary hosted its first Bicycle Safety Rodeo on September 26th and 30th. Classes from 1st to 5th grade took part in activities which focused on bicycle safety. Students learned about the different parts of a bike and what to check before riding.
They were all fitted with helmets and had the opportunity to demonstrate safe riding, including proper turning signals. The bicycles and helmets were donated for the event and will be given to students in need. Active SWV plans to organize another bike safety rodeo at Mount Hope Elementary in Spring 2017 and hopes to replicate the program at other regional elementary schools.
