Southern West Virginia is a beautiful region to live, work, and play. The outdoor venues offer some of America’s best recreation assets; walking and hiking areas, rail trails for biking, multiple gentle rivers for paddling, town parks with natural playgrounds, and climbing and bouldering areas. The Active SWV programs offer the introductory step into these activities with Community Captain volunteers leading. Programs also include hikes in parks, gentle yoga classes, beginner Tai Chi, pickle ball, dance aerobics, and the signature of all programs; Walking Groups.

Introducing and inviting the population in the New River Gorge region to Active SWV events is exciting and rewarding. There is no other organization like this in the state of West Virginia. The Active SWV network is encouraging and welcoming to new participants of any age and fitness level.
Education on the importance and benefits of active living is a top priority of Active SWV. Molly will increase our voice and message to reach more potential participants. It is important to educate families on the recommendation of physical activity per week.
For substantial health benefits, adults should do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week of moderate-intensity, or 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity, or an equivalence combination. –Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Current Physical Activity Guidelines

Molly Wolff joins the Active SWV team on a part time basis to contribute media and communication support along with photography and graphic design. Molly brings an education in Physical Education and Recreation Administration from Southern Virginia University with life experience in youth sports programming, assisting children with special needs in recreation, tourism marketing assistance, and owning a photography business. Molly is a resident of Scarbro, West Virginia with her family.
The mission of Active Southern West Virginia to increase opportunities for active living through recruiting, training, and mentoring volunteer leaders from within the communities they serve will be supported through increasing media content. The health of our communities and workforce is important for the quality of life and economy in southern West Virginia. The stories behind every volunteer and participant are genuine in the struggles to living a healthy life in southern West Virginia and sincerely motivating in ways each person achieves their goals.
