Active SWV would like to introduce you to April Participant of the Month, Jacki Wright. Jacki has participated in multiple hikes and stand up paddle boarding with Active SWV Community Captains, she enjoys the social aspects of the programs.
Jacki and her husband recently moved to West Virginia, they both enjoy hiking and use the Active SWV program opportunities as a way to lean about the hiking trails and other recreational opportunities available in the area.
It was a great way to meet people in the area and it was more than getting from point A to B on the hike, I am the type of person that wants to stop and photograph the cool mushroom I just passed.
Jacki enjoyed Active SWV programs so much she has decided to join the 2019 Active SWV Community Captain Training Class this May 4th and 5th. This FREE two day training class will give Jacki skills in leadership, risk managment, CPR/First Aid, communication, and promotion that will help her create and lead her own program. Active SWV staff and NPS Rangers will provided all the training and materials needed for Jacki to have the confidence and skills set she needs to provide quality physical activity programs in her community and the New River Gorge Region.
If you are a previous Active SWV participant and want to be like Jacki and join the 2019 Community Captain Training class; or you have never participated in an Active SWV program wand want to sign up no previous experience is required, check out the Facebook event page or contact [email protected].
