November Participant of the Month

Active SWV is very pleased to introduce you to our November Participant of the Month, Kelly Witt. Continue reading to learn more about Kelly and her story about being physically active and how you can get started.

I am from Mullens WV and married to Dr. Michael Witt. We have one son, Ian. In fact, Ian is with me in my photo! We hike a lot around here in Wyoming County, but also in Fayette, Raleigh, just about any beautiful wooded and mountainous area in Southern West Virginia!  This photo was taken at Fayetteville near one of the New River Gorge trailheads.

Refit of Active SWV was something FREE, YEAHHH!! and it was being offered to anyone who wanted to join, no exceptions! I saw that not only were we physically working our bodies, but we were encouraging one another spiritually through prayer and devotions to God. Being spiritually fit is a top priority. I love to exercise and dance too. We have a lot of fun! It’s great.

I’ve always seemed to have the desire and motivation to stay healthy and fit. I love the outdoors, and staying active is a priority because I want to be able to go out and enjoy this wonderful state, whether hiking, kayaking, swimming or group fit/dance classes, at any age; especially now, at 55 years old. I guess you can say I’m “over the hill” LOL

Anyone should join Active SWV because this program is so awesome for your complete body, mind and soul. Why not take advantage of something free and good at the same time! Just singing along with the music offered at Refit will lift and lighten your soul. Your heart will thank you, your loved ones will thank you. It’s a win, win situation!

All you have to do is take that first step. It doesn’t have to be a marathon, just one step at a time, one Refit class at a time. You won’t regret it.
