CDC Work@Health certifies individuals and qualifies employers for funding
Each year, Active SWV hosts at least one CDC Work@Health Employee Training courses. This 8 week virtual course walks through the why and how of implementing a workplace wellness program. When employees participate, they become certified in the program, preparing them to spearhead a wellness program at their own place of employment. For employers in the state of WV, this means they qualify to apply for grants of up to $1,000 to launch their wellness program.
More Workplaces Seeing Value of Employee Wellness
This fall, three new workplaces registered employees to become certified in the CDC Work@Health curriculum: The Town of Fayetteville, French Creek Elementary School, and The Summit Bechtel Reserve. Additionally, Active SWV opened the class to its employees and now 100% of the Active SWV staff is certified, with two being certified to also teach the course.
Two of these worksites also received $1,000 grants for workplace wellness initiatives. From arthritis management to workplace fitness stations – these workplaces will role out a variety of wellness programming in 2022.
