The Spring Kids Run Club season is wrapping up with a total of 16 participating Kids Run Clubs. Six of the clubs were new to the program – Bluefield Intermediate, French Creek Elementary, Morgantown Early Learning Facility, New River Primary, Mullens Elementary, and the Ridge Runners Run Club in Bluefield. The returning locations were Rupert Elementary, Stratton Elementary, Mabscott Elementary, Union Educational Complex, Zela Elementary, Kenna Elementary, Marsh Fork Elementary, Fayetteville pk-8, Oak Hill Middle School, and Crescent Elementary. There were about 430 total runners in this years batch of spring Kids Run Clubs.
Looking Ahead – Summer and Fall
This summer, Active SWV is partnering with Save the Children (STC) to host some summer Kids Run Clubs at various sites to fulfill the physical activity component of STCs comprehensive programming.
Active SWV’s Fall Kids Run Club application will open in August, giving schools and community groups the chance to start or continue their Kids Run Club program in the fall 2022 school year.
