Meet Scott Justice, our Active SWV Community Captain of the Month
Many of you have probably met Scott on the trails or river. He has been volunteering with Active SWV for some time, and always has a welcoming smile for those around him. Scott volunteers for Active SWV because he knows about many outdoor activity opportunities near the New River and “I like to share that knowledge with those looking to add new flavor to their active lifestyles.”
Scott’s experiences with Active SWV are vast. He began volunteering in order to introduce others to the abandoned rail line converted to trail in Fayette and Greenbrier Counties, the Meadow River Trail. He has served in many capacities including camp counselor, hike leader, and recently Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) facilitator. Scott recently led a SUP program at Camp Brookside, and even travelled to the Active SWV headquarters in Beckley to fill his vehicle with boards, paddles, and pfds. Scott says he “loves it when he gets to talk about the intriguing history and natural history of our one of a kind backyard. Its like extreme show and tell.”
Scott believes that Active SWV has activities to peak anyone’s interest. From tourist to local, we are just waiting for you to join and get started!
