July Participant of the month is Grace!
Grace stays active for her mental health because it helps her relieve stress and keep her mind clear. She started being physically active as a child but lost touch as an adult. “I have to be intentional when I am active as it is easy to get distracted by the demands of daily life,” she says.
Grace stays motivated by remembering how she feels after being active. Her day-to-day is much easier when she is active. She also stays motivated by being active with friends and family. Grace can be active while prioritizing relationships that mean a lot to her. “I prioritize being active because it helps my mind and body be the best version of myself,” she says.
Grace thinks everyone should join the Active SWV free programs due to the many benefits of being active as well as the support and guidance of the Community Captains. This program also allows you to meet people that you would have never met otherwise. “I never would have tried paddle boarding if not for this program, and I have developed a love for it,” says Grace.
