Greenbrier County’s Dixie Wickline is January Participant of the Month
Dixie is from Fayette County originally, but now lives in Greenbrier County, and has for most of her life.
Dixie is active because, “I feel much better when I’m active, plus, a little physical exertion helps reduce the occasional brain fog.”
Up until Dixie graduated from high school, she walked almost 4 miles a day to and from the bus stop. She enjoyed softball and track in high school, but didn’t have the stamina to play basketball.
Self-motivation is difficult, especially during the winter. Dixie enjoys swimming at the Aquatic Center, but was always looking for a hiking group to join. She is very thankful ASWV has finally come to Greenbrier County. “I encourage everyone to consider joining one of their many free programs,” says Dixie.
Dixie finds that she is always telling people about Active SWV’s Greenbrier County hiking group. She likes that participants have a choice to meet in town and carpool to the destinations. Dixie has enjoyed meeting like-minded people and exploring new trails. “I wish we could have a hike every week!”
