The mysterious disease that crippled Levi Moore didn’t strike overnight.

The National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia have received a second year of grant funding from the National Park Foundation’s Active Trails program.

Active SWV is very fortunate to have a passionate and committed group of volunteers and supporters. We are thankful for the time, commitment, and dedication our volunteers have to serving their communities.

With the new year comes new challenges, Active SWV is challenging you to get active in 2017 and join a free program in your area.

Active Southern West Virginia, in partnership with The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, The West Virginia Bureau of Public Health, and the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, is announced the new Active SWV Workplace Wellness Pilot Program at the Regional Economic Summit on November 17th.

Valley Elementary Run Club was Active SWV’s pilot run club, and they continue to lead the way adding new and exciting components to their run club each year.

Fairdale Elementary School Run Club, powered by Active Southern West Virginia, completed its first session on October 25th, 2016

The Panther Creek Elementary Run Club, powered by Active SWV, completed its first run club session on October 19th with a celebratory fun run!

The Cranberry Prosperity Elementary Run Club, powered by Active Southern West Virginia, completed its first session on October 27th.

The Valley Elementary School Run Club, powered by Active Southern West Virginia, capped off its third session with an exciting color run on October 19th, 2016.
