There is now time for a fall Active SWV Training Team working toward a fundraising costume party race, the Devil Dash 5K hosted by our Community Captain Joseph Gutshall.
Active Southern West Virginia presents the ActiveSWV Valley Elementary School Running Club, the first round of after school programming. Principal Harrah and PE Teacher Linkous will facilitate the program with support from the staff at ActiveSWV.
Join us in our first ever Bridge Day event, Active SWV: New River Gorge Bridge Day Scavenger Hunt. This will be a photograph hunt with the goal to take a picture of yourself, friends, and family doing the items or capturing the action on the list.
This month we are highlighting the accomplishments of our Beckley Community Captain, Missy Burleson, to both show appreciation for her service and to showcase a little bit of her story.
Active SWV is offering a volunteer competition. Serve volunteer hours in August, September, October, November and December toward winning awards and gifts from Active SWV.
The first weekend in August attracts athletes and families to the New River Gorge to take part in a variety of race events, but to also enjoy the scenic beauty, historic towns and a pleasant mountain climate.
Active Southern West Virginia is looking for community members interested in obtaining a water aerobics instructor certification to teach group water aerobics in their community.
