The ecosystem of Active Southern West Virginia programs reaches volunteers and participants across communities, schools, local government, and workplaces. A dynamic and passionate new team member, Veronica Crosier, will support and expand the reach of these programs.

Active SWV is pleased to announce Bob Matson as Community Captain of the month.

For the month of July, Active SWV is excited to highlight Arlene Russell and her granddaughter Patience Meadows as our participants of the month!

Active SWV is excited to introduce our July Community Captain of the month, Abbie Clasgens! Abbie is a new Community Captain who was one of many to participate in the recent 2019 Community Captain Training.

Active SWV in partnership with Get Active in the Park provides free physical activity opportunities within the New River Gorge National River.

Last month Active SWV began a series of group walking event in the City of Beckley called “Walk with the Mayor”.

Active SWV would like to welcome the new 2019 Community Captains.

Active SWV Community Captains do such an amazing job of encouraging and inspiring their program participants some of them recently became Community Captains themselves at the 2019 Active SWV Community Captain training.

Active SWV recognizes the importance of being active on a regular basis to manage and prevent chronic diseases.
