Active SWV is pleased to highlight Jennifer Scott as the July Community Captain of the Month. Jennifer volunteers to lead stand up paddle boarding for Active SWV because she loves to introduce people to water activity.
Assembling people to form a Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Committee (BPAC) is a common approach to making progress which connects community members with local authorities to assess conditions and create plans for improvement.
Summer days are upon us and we all want to get active outdoors. The benefits to exercising and playing outside are outstanding for mental and physical health, however, everyone needs to be extremely vigilant about ticks.
Active SWV would like to introduce Bob Matson, June Community Captain of the Month. Bob is a volunteer from the 2018 Get Active in the Park training class. We are glad to welcome Bob to the Active SWV family.
Now that spring has officially sprung, Active SWV’s staff will become increasingly busy working to bring physical activity opportunities to our region. Before we get too busy we would like to take some time to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of our Community Captains.

Active SWV is excited to announce the Community Captain of the Month for April is Charity Wysong. Charity leads Active SWV’s Walk in the Park program, a walking/hiking group at Fayette County Park every Wednesday at 10am.
Molly Wolff joins the Active SWV team on a part time basis to contribute media and communication support along with photography and graphic design.
