Active SWV is excited to announce our August participant of the Month, Caleb Carver!

Adventure: Fayette County is in partnership with Active Southern West Virginia, Coda Mountain Academy, Mountain Surf Paddle Sports, New River Association of Climbers, Fayette County Park, Fayette Prevention Coalition, New River Health Association, Fayette County Libraries and Bookmobile, Fayetteville Arts Coalition, and others.

Join us online for backyard interactive activities that get kids moving in the safety of their own home or neighborhood.

Active SWV’s Virtual Kids Run Club and Regional Fun Run event wrapped up Memorial day weekend after six weeks of activity.

The ‘Virtual’ edition of the Kids Run Club program allows kids to be active safely from home, and then log their activity on a shared online platform to stay connected to the Kids Run Club community.

Let’s get active safely! Due to COVID-19 and CDC guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of the virus, after school activities including the Active SWV Kids Run Clubs have been cancelled. Active SWV wants to make sure kids can still have some of the structure and support being part of a sport provides. To achieve this, Active SWV is launching our Spring 2020 Kids Run Club program – virtual edition!

This spring, Active SWV’s Regional Fun Run Event is going virtual! The event has a youth 1-mile dash option as well as a community 5k walk/run, and is open to and adult or child in the community who would like to participate.

Active Southern West Virginia is committed to the health and well-being of southern West Virginia’s youth. In order to reduce the risk of spreading viral illness, at this time we are limited in physical meeting locations for our usual Kids Run Clubs.
