Active SWV would like to highlight Aletha Stolar and Patsieann Misiti as January Community Captains of the Month.
This month Active SWV would like to highlight Samantha Cadevil as participant of the month. Samantha is an AmeriCorp Vista at Just for Kids Advocacy Center.
Active SWV would like to highlight Lisa Harless as Participant of the Month for December.
Joe and Jenni Canterbury appreciate that Active Southern West Virginia helps to connect our community with healthy activities, making opportunities for exercise more accessible.
Active SWV Community Captains lead free activities of interest to them, in places and times convenient to them and inviting for their families, friends and neighbors. This peer-to-peer approach enables every day people to become leaders of health in their communities.
Peggy is a shining example of someone who is overcoming her own barriers to physical activity and also inspiring others along her way.
Meet Jack and Jacki Wright, Participants of the Month for September. Jack and Jacki moved to the area two years ago and have participated in many Active SWV hikes and SUP programs.
Serving as the Development and Outreach AmeriCorps VISTA, India Krawczyk has started her one year of service with Active SWV to assist with program development. India will be facilitating volunteer coaches needs with the fall Active SWV Kids Run Club program.
Active SWV has had the dream of offering a free water aerobics program in our area for a long time.
