ctive SWV would like to tell you about all the dynamic things happening in the City of Smithers in Fayette County, WV. Smithers is a small city in the Upper Kanawha Valley with big ideas for the community.
Active SWV would like to introduce you to our March Participant of the Month, Becky Morris. Becky has been a member of the UKV walking group since it was started in the parking lot at the Gauley Bridge retail location.

Active Southern West Virginia (Active SWV) is a non-profit organization working to remove barriers to physical activity in Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers counties by providing free physical activity programs in communities, parks, schools, local governments, and workplaces. This Truck-Pull Series is a way to fundraise to support these free program costs.

Ashley Thomas – February Participant of the Month
Active SWV is pleased to announce our February participant of the month – Ashley Thomas! Ashley has been attending the weekly Fayetteville running group on Wednesday evenings, led by Community Captain Beth Hudspeth.
Active SWV’s Workplace Wellness Program helps employers in southern West Virginia improve the health of employees by introducing healthy initiatives into the workplace.
This month’s highlight, Community Captain Beth Hudspeth, leads the weekly running group Fayetteville Running Group that has been in action for over a year.
