Active Southern West Virginia is working hard to improve and expand our Community Captains program – we need your help!
Active Southern West Virginia completed its first elementary school running club pilot program in partnership with Valley Elementary School in Smithers, Fayette County, West Virginia fall 2015.
This month we are highlighting Camp Brookside Community Captain Teeya Mills to both show appreciation for her service and to showcase a little bit of her story.

Active SWV Kids Run Club’s are made possible by dedicated facility volunteers willing to meet with the club once a week.
Ansted Middle School Kids Run Club powered by Active SWV and sponsored by Adventures On The Gorge and Hico Piggly Wiggly.

After an extensive search for a Volunteer Director to continue growing our Community Captain program, we have found the perfect fit and are excited to announce it to our supporters, ambassadors, partners, and volunteers.
Active Southern West Virginia is proud to present the first ever family friendly beginner triathlon at Battle Run beach Summersville Lake, West Virginia.
The Active SWV AMS Running Club began training in February two days a week afterschool with the leadership of PE & Health Teacher Kate Miller.
This week Summersville Elementary School wrapped up their second training day for the Active SWV SES Kids Running Club.
